Marvel Motion Pictures Labs

Marvel Studio's film making capabilities have always been the envy of other Disney-owned motion picture properties. And in 2021, Marvel decided to make their facilities available to the other production companies. Dubbed the Motion Picture Labs (MPL), Marvel hired Vogel Designs to design a branding system that would enable Marvel to market the labs. Playing off the lab theme, the periodic table of elements was used as a design foundation. The actual mathematical laws that guide the organization and structure of molecules were used. And much like Marvel’s Infinity Stones, each lab type has unique powers or capabilities. The color system and powers of the Infinity Stones serve as inspiration for creating each Motion Picture Lab element.
